Yuh Shiun is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team, specialising in civil and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on employment and shipping disputes.
In his current practice, Yuh Shiun regularly appears before courts at all levels as both sole and co-counsel. His employment practice includes representing both employers and employees in unfair dismissal claims, appearing frequently before the Industrial Court of Malaysia and the High Court of Malaya, and advising on matters involving trade union recognition. In shipping matters, he has acted in arbitration proceedings administered by the Asian International Arbitration Centre, as well as proceedings relating to the arrest of vessels.
Yuh Shiun graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Queen’s University Belfast, and he was one of two students awarded the Brickfield Exceptional Student Scholarship. He subsequently completed the Bar Practice Course with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at The University of Law (Birmingham), graduating with Distinction.
As part of his Master of Laws (LL.M.) programme, he worked under the supervision of a qualified solicitor in England, providing advice on family law matters, including domestic violence, international child abduction, and child arrangement orders.
Yuh Shiun is fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and Hokkien.
