Andrew Lee & Yzabel Dumaguing Defend High Court Corporate Veil Action

Our Andrew Lee and Yzabel Dumaguing were successful in defending a High Court action brought by related US and Puerto Rican entities seeking to pierce the corporate veil in order to bring a claim against our client personally as company director. The case involved a dispute over the shipment of KN 95 facemasks from China to the US during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our firm’s client, who was the director of the Singapore company involved in the dispute, faced allegations of fraud, misrepresentation, intermingling of funds and inducement of breach of contract. At the conclusion of the High Court trial, Senior Justice Andrew Ang found in favour of our client and dismissed the claim against him.
