Full Acquittal in Witness Bribery Case

PDLegal LLC represented an accused who was charged with 7 charges of abetment of bribery of witnesses under Section 204B(1)(b) read with section 109 of the Penal Code. The accused was charged with instigating another individual to offer a bribe to seven witnesses in exchange for them not giving evidence at a separate trial. The trial was heard in the District Court over 10 days with 9 witnesses called by the Prosecution.

After hearing the evidence and considering parties’ submissions, the accused was acquitted of all charges. We are pleased to have secured this favourable outcome on behalf of our client. We are also grateful to the Honourable Court for its careful consideration of the evidence and our submissions.
